Allah Almighty knows everything without even saying that what we need as Holy Prophet (PBUH) once said in hadith that: “Whenever a Muslim supplicates Allah, He accepts his supplication or averts any similar kind of trouble from him until he prays for something sinful or something that may break the ties of kinship.” Upon this, someone of the Companions said: “Then we shall supplicate plenty.” The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Allah is more plentiful (in responding).” (Tirmidhi)

Secrets of an “Accepted” Dua

There are some secrets that will help Muslims to make their Duas accepted as soon as possible by Allah Almighty.

  • First of all, supplicate for others before making Dua for yourself. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said in one of His hadith: “He who supplicates for his brother behind his back (in his absence), the Angel commissioned (for carrying supplication to his Lord) says: Ameen and it is for you also.” (Sahih Muslim)
  • One should make Dua with full confidence and hope for the better results after making Dua from Allah Almighty. Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “You must not supplicate: ‘O Allah! forgive me if You wish; O Allah bestow mercy on me if You wish.’ But beg from Allah with certitude for no one has the power to compel Allah.” (Sahih Bukhari)
  • There are many Duas of prophets of Islam mentioned in the Holy Quran by Almighty Allah for us. We can simply recite them along with our daily prayers for acceptance of supplications. One should recite Duas mentioned in Quran and Hadiths.
  • One should praise Allah Almighty at the beginning of every Dua. Allah Almighty is the creator of this Universe we should praise Him. In one of hadith Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “The supplication of Prophet Yunus (A.S) when he supplicated, while in the belly of the whale was: ‘There is none worthy of worship except You, Glory to You, Indeed, I have been of the transgressors. (Lā ilāha illā anta subḥānaka innī kuntu minaẓ-ẓālimīn)’ so indeed, no Muslim man supplicates with it for anything, ever, except Allah responds to him.” (Jami at-Tirmidhi)
  • Always show gratitude while making Dua or supplication. Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran: “And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, ‘If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.’” (Quran, 14:7)
