Real Happiness and Inner Peace in Islam
Happiness is basically a mental state of well being characterized pleasant emotions which are ranging from satisfaction to extreme comfort. As a human being, we desire the inner peace of heart and happiness in our lives.
What is inner peace and happiness in Islam?
Islam means “Submission to Allah Almighty” with respect. When someone realizes the meaning of Islam means when he/she submitted himself/herself to Allah Almighty then inner peace and happiness can achieve in life. Islam is vital for understanding the relationship between inner peace and happiness. Complete submission to Allah Almighty Leads to inner peace. True peace, both internally and externally, can only be achieved by the correct implementation of Islam.
Islam brings about a complete calmness and peace of mind that is the result of realizing that one believing and acting in accordance with the guidance of one’s Creator. This internal peace can then spread to the family, the community, the society and the world as a whole. Allah Almighty says in Holy Quran in a way: “Indeed, there has come to you from God a Light and a clear Book wherewith God guides all those who seek His Good Pleasure to ways of peace, and He brings them out of darkness by His Will unto light and guides them to a Straight Way” (Quran, 5:15-16)
True and complete peace can only be attained when the individuals themselves achieve internal peace. This results from Islam or the true submission to Allah Almighty alone. Allah says in Holy Quran: “O, you who believe! Answer God (by obeying Him) and (His) Messenger when he calls you to that which will give you life…” (Quran, 8:24)

Seek the Pleasure of Allah
Nothing can make us happier than seeking the pleasure of Allah In Holy Quran Allah Almighty says about true happiness and success in life in these words: “The believers, men, and women, are Auliya’ (helpers, supporters, and friends) of one another; they enjoin (on people) Al-Ma‘ruf (good), and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar (evil); they perform As-Salat (prayer), and give the Zakat (charity), and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah will have His Mercy on them. Surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. Allah has promised the believers -men and women, – Gardens under which rivers flow to dwell therein forever, and beautiful mansions in Gardens of ‘Adn (Eden Paradise).But the greatest bliss (happiness) is the Good Pleasure of Allah. That is the supreme success. “(Quran, Al-Tawbah: 71, 72)

Avoid Worldly comparisons
Do not admire the lives of the celebrities and rich people their lives are not ideal in the eyes of Allah Almighty. Being a Muslim admire the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and his companions who are role models for us. “Look at those below you (less fortunate than you), and don’t look at those above you, for this is better.” (Muslim)

Serve and maintain relations with others
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) strongly advised to keep ties with family, strong relations with friends and relatives and also taught us the etiquettes of social relations.

Eat Halal
Consuming Halal is an order of Allah Almighty and an essential part of the Islamic faith. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said in one of his hadith about Halal earning and eating in a way: “Abu Hurairah related, Allah’s Messenger PBUH said: Verily Allah is pure and He accepts only what is pure and indeed Allah has given those orders to the believers, which he has given to the Messengers. He has said, “O Messenger, eat from the pure foods and work righteous”. He -also- has said: “O you, who have believed, eat the pure things which we have provided you.” Then (the Prophet PBUH) made mention of a man who undergoes a lengthy journey in a state that he is disheveled and dusty. He spreads his hands towards the sky (calling), “O my lord, O my lord”, however, his food is haraam, his drink is haraam, his clothes are haram and he has been nourished with haram! So how will his call be answered?” [Muslim]

Be Thankful to Allah Almighty
We should be thankful to Allah Almighty for everything. The more we thankful to Allah the more Allah (SWT) will happy and He will shower His bounties on us. Thanking Allah Almighty is indeed an act of worship. In Holy Quran Allah says: “And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: “If you give thanks, I will give you more (of My Blessings), but if you are thankless, verily! My Punishment is indeed severe.” (Quran, 14: 7)
