It is the great miracle of this Hallowed Manuscript that unlike previous Divine Volumes of the Almighty Lord [Tawrat (Torah) of Hazrat Musa A.S (Moses), Zabur (the Book of Psalms) of Hazrat Dawud A.S (David), Injeel (Gospel) of Hazrat Isa A.S (Jesus)], there has not been any kind of alteration in the Sacred Book of Quran even after 1400 years as it is under the Safety of the Exalted One Himself.

40: the age of Prophet Muhammad Receiving First Revelation

Although Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ was the Chosen One by Allah SWT for sake of transforming the whole world towards righteousness even before His birth, but He was not declared the Prophet until He reached the age of 40. He was personification of every kind of morality and principles which Islam is based on right from His early age. “Recite in the name of your Lord who created – Created man from a clinging substance. Recite and your Lord is the most Generous – Who taught by the pen – Taught man that which he knew not.” [Quran, 96: 1-5]

“And [it is] a Qur’an which We have separated [by intervals] that you might recite it to the people over a prolonged period. And We have sent it down progressively.” [Quran, 17: 106]

30: Number of Divisions of the “Amr”

114: Total Number of Chapters in the “Kitab”

There are total 114 Surahs (Chapters) of the Holy Quran, which are of varying lengths and contain instructions about specific themes. The first Surah if called Al-Fatiha (the Opening) and the last one is An-Nas (Mankind). These are also divided and known by the time and place at which their teachings were revealed upon the Holy Prophet ﷺ. Makkans Subdivisions consist of short and poetic verses. They are mostly based on completion of faith, i.e. believing in One Allah and the Prophet Hood of Rasulullah ﷺ. They also remind people about past Prophets and their nations, assurance of Jannah (paradise) for the believers and that of hell for disbelievers. On the other hand, the Madinan Chapters have long ayaths and are plain in nature. They talk about the religious duties of Muslims like Zakah, Fasting, and performance of Hajj (pilgrimage). They also lay down moral ethics regarding social behavior, laws of justice and rules of battles etc.

6: Number of Chapters Named After Prophets

Only 6 of the many Prophets that came down on earth have the honor as being named after 6 individual Surahs of the “Hakim”. They are so because of the true stories of the Prophets that are told in Quran and significance of these Messengers for their people. These chapters are:

Baqarah: The Longest Chapter of the “Muhaiman”

The Holy Quran accumulates a range of Surahs which vary from shortest to the longest and Surah Baqarah (the Cow), which contains the story of Hazrat Musa A.S (Moses) who directed Bani Israel to slaughter a cow on the order of Allah SWT to be able to know about the mysterious murder. It has the total of 286 verses and 282nd Ayah of this chapter itself is the lengthiest one in the entire Sacred Scripture.

136: Number of Times Name of Musa A.S used in Quran

Moses was the Chief Prophet who eventually freed Bani Israel from the cruelty of Firaon (Pharaoh) and brought them to enlightenment of worshiping One Allah Almighty. He is the most mentioned Prophet in the “Ruh”, which is 136 times.

Friday: The Only Talked About Day of the Week in Quran

The most blessed Day of the week in Islamic Calendar is indeed Friday. Maryam A.S: The Only Lady Mentioned in the “Mutahhara”

Mary, the Mother of Hazat Isa A.S (Jesus) has the honor of being the only woman every existed on the earth to be included in the Holy Quran. There is even an individual Surah named after her, which is the 19th chapter of the “Mubin”, called Surah Al-Maryam.

29: Number of times name of Isa A.S taken in the “Sidq”

Jesus, the Prophet who was given the Holy Scripture of “Injil” (Gospel) by the Most Merciful, who brought his people towards the Message of Righteousness and believing and worshiping One Allah Almighty. He is discussed 29 times in the Holy Quran by his name.

There is a separate Chapter, i.e. 71st in Furqan e Hameed, which is named after the Prophet Noah, which is called Surah Nuh, whose mission was to bring his people back towards the commandments of God.

10: Amount of Rewards for Reciting One Letter Of The “Balagh”

The whole Book of Quran is filled with instructions and teachings that are a great cause of imparting clarification and wisdom among its readers. Even a mere reading of this Sacred Manuscript in the hope of getting enlightened is highly regarded near the Gracious God. Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ has said:

”Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah will receive a hasanah (good deed) from it (i.e. his recitation), and the hasanah is multiplied by ten. I do not say that Alif-Laam-Meem is (considered as) a letter, rather Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter, and Meem is a letter.” (Tirmidhi)

So, for the recitation of each letter of Quran, one tends to get 10 blessings of Allah SWT.

Surah Yaseen: The Heart of the “Wahi”

Although all Chapters of the Holy Quran hold stand out worth and importance in their own way, like Surah Faitha is the Opening of this Book, and is recited repeatedly in the Daily Prayers. Surah Yaseen has also got a distinctive position among the Subdivisions of the “Haqq”, which was quoted to be called “the Heart of Quran” according to an authentic Hadith of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.

“Everything has a heart and the heart of the Quran is Surah Yaseen, whoever read Yaseen, Allah will write the reward of reading the Quran ten times from him.” (Tirmidhi)

4: Number of Times Name of Prophet Muhammad  Taken in the “Aziz”

The Holy Quran was revealed upon Rasulullah ﷺ to make the Arabs leave polytheism and immorality and come towards the Message of Monotheism of Allah and adopting Uprightness. Although it repeatedly directs the believers to follow the Sunnah of Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ to succeed, but His name is taken only 4 times in it, i.e. on the occasions of Aal Imraan 3: 144; Al-Ahzaab 33: 40; Muhammad 47: 2; and Al-Fatah 48: 29.

“Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allah at all; but Allah will reward the grateful.” [Quran, 3: 144]

Apart from that on one instance, the Prophet ﷺ has been recalled by “Ahmad” (His name in Jannah) in Al-Saff 61: 6.

Apart from the above discussed key facts regarding the “Qawl”, it also consists of 6666 words; there are 86 Makkan and 28 Madani Surahs; its Chapters are divided in to 7 stages to help Muslims finish it in phases; there are 540 Rukus (paragraphs) in it; it has 10 different kinds of Ayaths (Verses), there are 14 verses containing Sajdahs (prostration); Salah is stressed upon 700 times and 150 times on Zakah (charity), 2698 is the number of occasions on which the name of “Allah” is mentioned.
